these? Milton Friedmans classical model of corporate social responsibility is one example of normative business ethics. He postulates that increasing profits is the social responsibility of corporations. Corporations have a manner in which they are supposed to behave. They should be constructed in a certain manner. Friedman is able to present valid ethical reasons for his ideas. It is not surprising that Friedmans views continue to influence contemporary society, although not everyone agrees with Friedman. Just what is free market? There really is no such thing as a free market. Certain organizations dominate the market. Because they become so large, they have the lions share and competitors are not willing to rock the boat. There is competition; yet, the competition is friendly, not aggressive. The prices will never be equal. The market will never be truly "free." The market does not have as much power as one would think it possesses. The market is dependant on many factors, some of which are out of the control of the corporations. There are internal and external factors. Orientation, economics, systems of implementations, compatibility with existing architecture must be internal considerations. A SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis must be done in order to determine how any company stands. The organizational goals of a company can and must be attained in a manner that is both effective and efficient. Without effectiveness, there will be no organization. A lack of efficiency is almost as bad as a lack of effectiveness. A company is only as strong as its personnel allow it to be. The ...
