But, if we really stop and think about it we can understand that certain levels of censorship happen all the time and are good. Pornography and extreme violence and even simple nudity are kept from our mainstream media because we, as a people, have essentially agreed that we do not want that in our mainstream media. It is censored from certain forms of media, and censored from certain arenas of distribution. As such censorship clearly exists but it is clearly becoming far more difficult to censor as information and the availability of that information has passed beyond censorship controls. The following paper examines these conditions and realities. Censorship The student requesting this essay presents the following illustration of the problem: "Censorship is both ethically necessary yet, in the practical terms, impossible. The point of Censorship is not to regulate what people think and say, but how it is circulated in society, and the circulation of information is now beyond anyones control." Technology and information is now available in all locations around the nation, if not almost the world as well. Information of any kind imaginable is quite easily obtained. This creates a situation wherein the information is so widely spread out that it is all but impossible to censor what children see, what is quickly accessed, and what is presented, be it truth or not.
