justice agencies on the local, state and national level have scrambled to find ways to combat terrorism, and to be better prepared the next time. One huge flaw in the
system prior to 9/11 was that organizations werent communicating too effectively with one another. These days, criminal justice organizations, such as local affiliates of the FBI and police departments, struggle
with the best way to prevent another 9/11. Most experts have pointed out that the best way to be braced for terrorism is to prevent it. And the best way
to prevent it is through the sharing of criminal intelligence data (South Florida Sun-Sentinel, 2003). Even prior to 9/11, Florida developed a computerized criminal justice network that shared data, public
health threat information and other potential security concerns to agencies throughout the state (South Florida Sun-Sentinel, 2003). During the early 2000s, the state spent $399 million during a three-year period,
ending in mid-2004, on domestic terrorism efforts including the acquisition of emergency medical suits, special kits for police officers and equipment for urban search and rescue teams (South Florida Sun-Sentinel,
2003). However, with the idea that the best way to be prepared for terrorism is to prevent it, as much as possible,
its suggested that a criminal justice agency or organization consider investing in a computer system that can link into data networks maintained by the FBI and CIA. Though states routinely
do share information from the FBI and CIA with criminal justice agencies, it seems as such sharing is on a "need to know" basis, such as the possibility of a
