If we compare this to the range of the reps that deal with the large retail stores the smaller range is also skewed more towards the lower end of the commission scales with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 1,858. If we consider the athletic store reps and decide to reduce the size of the sample so that both samples have the same size. We can do this by taking off the extremes at either end, meaning 5 at the top and five at the bottom, we have a sample that looks more like the large retail store reps. This adjusted sample of athletic stores reps has a range of 1,596 with a minimum of 87 with a maximum of 1,683.
