Olympic Committee, the U.S.S.R. and a variety of other organizations for coaching. In recent years, I opened my own fitness center with the desire to help others achieve their
fitness and health goals. My pursuit of a doctoral degree in Natural Health corresponds with my continued desire to educate and program for a variety of health and
fitness needs. My professional and educational achievements in the area of sports, coaching and rehabilitation services have helped me understand the benefits of holistic approaches to health. Wellness
is not simply a state of mind or a state of physical achievement, but relates to mental, physical and spiritual elements. Alternative and natural healing systems recognize the correlation
between the mind and body in creating wellness. I have not only seen this truth evidenced in my own work as a trainer, coach and rehabilitative expert, but also
in the application of scientific research to sports medicine and health. The furthering of my education in the area of natural healing will expand my ability to meet the
needs of a varied client population, increase my ability to help people make and maintain healthful choices and determine a better method for applying exercise and athletics to the creation
of wellness. Another underlying reason for my desire to expand my knowledge in the area of natural health is that I have become keenly aware of the impacts of physical
