643 Life in the twenty-first century has become more of a chore than
a pleasure. Our society clings to few of the values we had in the past. We are confronted on a hourly basis with disgusting images and sounds.
We are force fed food that is destroying our bodies and we willing consume alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs that hastens this destruction on its way. Those of
us that desperately try to cling to traditions of family, church, heterosexuality, monogamy, the right to life, and normalcy are ridiculed as being old fashioned and intolerant. We live
not just in a multicultural world but a world where no one is allowed to truly do as they believe when those actions would stand in opposition to the masses.
We can only wish for a future where once again we stand for the good things in our universe, where once again right is right and wrong is wrong.
Morals in the twenty-first century are based on what feels good at the time. We condone choices and actions that our grandparents
would have condemned. Consider, for example, the controversy surrounding abortion. People no longer believe in abstinence. They see no need for using precautions to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
