realize this from what has been on the news lately. WorldCom owns Digex but queries into the parent companys practices have created departures as far as the firms
CFO and CEO are concerned ("Company," 2005). These departures were related to fraud charges lodged by the SEC as the firm wanted bankruptcy protection (2005). The firm also came out
of Chapter 11 during April of 2004 (2005). WorldCom would trade through two specific stocks, one for the WorldCom Group and the other for MCI but MCI has abandoned
the structure after it had come out of bankruptcy (2005). In the end, it would be MCI that looked good. The United States Bankruptcy Court had presided over WorldCom, Inc.s
bankruptcy petitions and authorized the firm to agree to a settlement ("Bankruptcy," 2004). The court would approve WorldComs paying the government $27 million in order to settle claims when it
defrauded the General Services Administration (GSA) (2004). That occurred between 1999 and 2004 (2004). MCI was required to pay $670,000 to GSA (2004). Of course, prior to its
troubles, WorldCom was a significant force to reckon with. Worldcom would boast revenues which are equivalent to about $40 billion during the year 2000 ("Simplicity.com," 2002). Worldcom did have a
