In order to understand the impacts of the derivative on velocity, it is first necessary to comprehend the basic concepts of relative to velocity. Velocity in itself is simply a vector quality. An object can be determined to have a specific velocity if there is some level of change at equal periods of time. While constant velocity is represented by uniformity in motion, average velocity is a figure that determines the totality of change of an object during a given elapsed time, divided by that time. Instantaneous velocity represents the given change or speed relative to a specified direction of motion along a plane. As objects move, the change their position, and when they move along a given line, this motion can be determined as an element the function x(t)(Anonymous 1). The symbol t in this function is time and the velocity can be determined in regards to specific time determinations. If the time changes, the function itself changes, as does the determination of velocity. Velocity is clearly an elemental part of speed, which is always determined by distance relative to time (Speed=dt) (Anonymous 1).
