Christianity, on the other hand, quickly "became a crosscultural religion within its first generation of existence" (Corduan, date, p. 46). This fact in itself sometimes makes it hard for Christians to understand how to talk with Jews about Christ and Christianity. Whether a Jew is practicing or not, they are still Jewish (Corduan, date). It is culture, their heritage that dates back thousands of years. It is also the factor that makes it hard for Jews to understand Christianity, as Corduan said, Jews often perceive all "Western Gentiles as Christians" (date, p. 46). It is as important for Christians to understand the different sects of Judaism as it is for Jews to understand the different sects of Christianity to have any hope of an intelligent discussion. For centuries, no, for millennia, Jews and Christians have been involved in stereotyping and in misunderstandings as well as slander and accusations (Corduan, date). For a Christian to share Christianity with a Jew, all stereotypes must be eliminated; these have no place in the discussion (Corduan, date). In order to fit into the economic Western world, many Jews have forsaken their heritage and do not rigidly practice the traditions for which Judaism is known (Corduan, date). Observant Jews, for instance, wear certain articles of clothing to denote their devotion to God, they eat kosher and they keep their Sabbath (Corduan, date). A Christian who wants to share the gospel, Christianity, with Jewish people must first bear in mind these practices and not interfere with them (Corduan, date).
