all this dynamic fluidity, there has come a great disruption to the force of higher education. Disruptions such as disruptive technology, shared governance, organized anarchy, organizational cultures, and learning organizational
ideas. So much is changing so fast that the institutions of higher learning are falling behind and are in a mad scramble to catch up. DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY
The term itself seems incongruous at best. How is a technology disruptive and how does it fit in with the education scene? More than likely what is being disrupted is
the status quo, the tried and true, the traditional, which is being forced to change its method and mode of information delivery. Enter another term: blog. Blogging is the slang
version for weblog, as in, on the computer. Many educators have now made their class assignments, syllabus and directions available via websites specific to the courses they are teaching. Some
even go to the point of adding in links with additional resources for study and downloadable pre-tests. Students, it can be foreseen, could also take advantage of this in the
