also for egoistic purposes. Di Giovanni describes to the reader ordinary people, both victims and perpetrators. It is this account of those involved as ordinary people that illustrates how
easy it is for fights to slip into madness and because of this it becomes even more difficult to break the cycle of violence and vengeance. The author explains
that it was when she was in Maglaj that she came to a full understanding of war; the even was a naked woman lying in the road waiting for someone
to kill her. How can anyone imagine such a scene if it is not personally experienced. To make matters even more bizarre, the woman was laughing as if only she
