Lay-out appeal : The front of the pamphlet features a woman with a provocative smile and the headline "Fast relief from yeast infections...with help from Eckerd." The womans smile in this context coveys the message that she found the information in the brochure to be helpful in finding relief from this common condition. There are pink borders across the top and the bottom of the first panel, which catch the eye and inform the reader that there is a "money-saving coupon inside" and that the pamphlet provides "health information." The cover also advertises Eckerds 1-800-"On Call" help line. While the use of color on the front panel is eye-catching, the picture itself is in sepia tones that seem slightly faded, which gives the impression that the pamphlet has been on display a very long time. If this were true-that is, if the picture had indeed faded-it would suggest to the consumer that the information in the pamphlet is, perhaps, out-of-date. However, the publication date is listed as September of 2005, which shows that the pamphlet is not excessively old. Therefore, it seems appropriate to suggest that a picture that appears less "faded" would be appropriate in conveying the message that the information in the pamphlet is current, and, therefore, trustworthy. Opening the pamphlet, the top headline runs across all three panels and says simply "yeast infections." Underneath this banner, information pertaining to yeast infections is listed under subheadings that are printed in red.
