expansive manufacturing plants, increased consumer interest and a glimpse into a more realistic image. When compared with the public recognition of basic photographic development, the implementation of color photography is
not nearly as well known. "Once black-and-white was the language of realism. Color was reserved for fantasy. These days, black-and-white photography feels self-conscious and arty, almost an
affectation" (Denerstein 6D). Indeed, color photography was available shortly after the black and white photograph had been developed in the mid eighteen hundreds; however, this rudimentary version of todays
brilliant and glossy reproduction was "nothing more than hand tinted black & white photographs of the area" (Richter art020.htm). This obviously primitive method of adding color was not to
be fully realized until many years later when the visible spectrum had been developed to such an extent as to actually be able to "see" the necessary photographic materials (Richter
art020.htm). Color photography was a much sought-after commodity in the mid to late eighteen hundreds; however, the technology was not yet sophisticated enough to incorporate the necessary implementation. The
relationship between molecular structure and color hues were postulated as being the determining factors with regard to the photographic material surface; depending upon the particular surface, the hues would be
