increasingly more aware that belief systems can impact health care and even particular religious rituals can have a major effect on outcome. Even prayer has been considered as a valid
medical topic. While science will likely never resolve the question of whether or not God exists, pioneering research has begun to answer the question of how medical effects can be
seen for those who do believe in God (Larson 292). Surprisingly, when clinical scientists have asked whether or not religious and spiritual practices, beliefs, or attitudes have positive clinical benefits
for individuals, the answer has always been a resounding yes (292). Studies have found that religious commitment can have a beneficial impact on both physical and mental health (292). While
research in this area is important, there are other related areas that should be looked at. Specifically, it would be interesting to study a particular religions rituals and beliefs to
see how those impact health. After all, habits and lifestyles all contribute to health. Particular beliefs concerning the society may impact on how health care is received. An example of
this are sects that do not believe in medical intervention at all. Parents have been prosecuted for murder as they let a child bleed to death, for example, due to
their religious convictions. While that is an extreme illustration, behavior as expressed by particular groups does impact their overall health. As a minority in the United States, different sects
of Judaism have practiced a variety of disciplines. Depending on how religious one is, or what sect they belong to, the amount of attention paid to such customs will vary
