the issue, rather it will investigate the cognitive school of psychology. Cognitive psychology is about how humans process information, how they learn, how they think, and how they remember. It
is a very broad field in that cognition affects behavior and, in fact, the cognitive domain impacts how one feels. Investigations have concluded that the cognitive school has become the
most prominent of the four schools during the last two decades. Robins, Gosling and Craik believe this is due to the computer revolution because computers offer scientists a "new metaphor
for conceptualizing how the mind works." Computers are based simply on retrieving, processing, and storing information thus in those ways they are like a human mind. Numerous experiments have occurred
involving cognitive psychology and different aspects of human behavior, cognition, processing and memory, a few of which are reported here. Lundgren and Prislin investigated cognitive processing and attitudes under different
motivations. They were looking specifically how strongly people hold on to their attitudes in view of information given to them about the topic. Cognitive dissonance theories, which deal with disparate
information and attitudes and opinions, came to play in this research. The results of this study suggested that when the motivation is strong enough, people will seek and generate information
that will help them prepare for a future social setting. They also spend a lot of energy in relevant types of thought and information processing. If the motivation is not
strong enough, people will not spend any effort in gaining additional information (1998). One of the more interesting areas of research in cognitive psychology has to with linking cognition to
